Alright, so here's what we've got then so far: Culture festival Spa holiday Beach day Sports day End of year/graduation (?) I think 4 - 5 is pretty reasonable to be honest. If they happen too often then we're going to be plotting routes too much around 'the next big event' and not have time for any character development. I've also placed them in the order that I find most acceptable. I put the sports day at the end because it works the best for the way that I've thought of Mako shark's route. It would serve as the best option for a climax. What are everyone else's thoughts? Alternatively, we could take the minor events, like the beach day and sports day, and have them only apply to certain paths. That way, someone playing through more than once isn't just going through the same scenario with a different shark and each path can have a somewhat unique feel to it. For instance, the culture festival could apply to all paths, but the sports day could only come up during routes that revolve around or intersect with the mako. Incidentally I think that the culture festival including underwater fireworks would be funny Also, the fireworks would clearly be old naval mines because why not.

That makes sense. Alright, so let's clarify then - I think that anywhere from 3 - 5 so-called 'big events' is more than enough PER ROUTE. They may not all be the same, but the number of them will be similar. Also I think beach day needs to apply to all of the sharks, both because the idea of sharks in bikinis is too funny to pass up and because kerospear might blow a gasket if it's not, haha.

Fair enough.
We could simply have the culture festival, beach day, and end of year/graduation events apply to all routes with one or two smaller events to give a sense of individuality and allow for better character development.

Yeah. And I mean it's not like the other sharks will just drop off the map once you pick one particular one. They'll still appear in smaller roles all over the place.

Of course. The smaller events would likely just be for one-on-one interaction and be more personal in nature, possibly including others either as mentions or a brief conversation leading into the event, while the larger events which include all paths would have the other sharks pop up much more frequently, with their attitudes varying based on your choices.

The alternate game mechanics is something that should be taken up with the programming team. Honestly, I think we'd be best off simply keeping it as a novel, but if the coders feel adventurous I'm not going to stop them from trying something new. Ultimately, it's up to them whether something like that is implemented I dont know about the other programmers, but the only "adventurous" thing i can think of, would be to include some sort of the minigame with the novel, just give me some sprites and some ideas for the game and I'll try and figure something out with my engine (only if people feel like it could be fun) Other than that i think it's best just to keep it as a novel

I like this idea. Some events all connect but some are special to each girl. It'd give a sense of consistency between the routes but the unique ones will feel special.
