Hello All, I go by SkyLlama most places (with the exception of Reddit where I'm /u/compaqxp). I live in Summerside, PEI, Canada and am 21 years old. You can find me in various places online like Reddit, but also VK, IRC (just message SkyLlama on freenode) and YouTube. Hmm, IRC might not be a bad idea. I wonder if anyone else would be up for using it...maybe the programming team at least?

Hey everyone, I'm BoxShark, or /u/DigitalLuminance. (Figured it's time to bust out a shark related name) I'm 24 and am from Vancouver, Canada. Like most of you, I love watching anime, and am obsessed with sharks. I'm not the most familiar with Visual Novels but have poked around them a bit in my spare time. While I wish I was familiar with programming languages, or talented enough to be an artist that's not the case. I've got a fair bit of experience in web design, and actually am working with a mobile game studio handling community and basic game design decisions. I'm not too sure what we'll be making this in, but if it's a drag/drop kind of tool like GameSalad (which can publish to pretty much anything) or Ren'py (which looks like something easy enough to learn) I'd be happy to help out with that, otherwise I'm more than happy to help out with general QA, any random tasks that need to be done, or just with getting the word out there. Also, when the idea of a Visual Novel was first mentioned (before anyone said they would actually work on it) I was fooling around with GameSalad and made this mockup with placeholder stuff, and had the text dialogues working as well. Was going to work on a rough story, but life got busy. Totally cheesy name inspired by Hatoful Boyfriend.

It's great for collaborating between teams as you can set up different channels for discussion depending on what you're working on. It's also got a super handy file system built in, and a ton of integrations (such as google docs and github). The only downside is when you join a group you need to do so through an email which is displayed on your profile in Slack, so I'd definitely recommend creating throwaway emails for that. Heck, if you guys want to use slack I can set the whole thing up, make your accounts using fake emails and just PM you the logins/passwords here.

Hey, guys! Okay, first off, this is going to sound insane, but I'm studying interactive literature for my undergrad senior project. Also, I think Tsundere Sharks are the most hilarious thing in the world and would love to throw myself into this. I'm a senior undergrad with a major in English and a minor in writing. I thought I might be able to lend my particular skills, because helping to write an interactive novel would be a ton of fun. If you want evidence of my fiction writing capabilities, I'd be more than happy to show you some of my more recent work. However--since I'm working on publishing my stories--I'm a bit tentative to just put them up on this board, so send me a message if you want to read.
Is there room for an experienced writer here?
Edit: I almost forgot to add, I was studying to become a marine biologist before I turned toward literature. I swear I'm not making this up.
Edit 2: I'm also open-water SCUBA-certified and I enjoy going swimming off of the Pacific coast mostly. So I could be useful for my knowledge of SCUBA and Marine Biology as well as my writing.

I wonder if anyone else would be up for using it...maybe the programming team at least? I'd be okay with that. Someone just needs to create a channel and post a topic/send it to people. I would assume anyone who will be programming knows how to use IRC and it'd be good for quick communication. I'd strongly suggest looking into Slack. It's great for collaborating between teams as you can set up different channels for discussion depending on what you're working on. It's also got a super handy file system built in, and a ton of integrations (such as google docs and github). We could look into using something like that. I've never personally heard of Slack so I don't know how it works. Is it a fully web based tool or can you download an application for it as well?

Sure! I'd be happy to. Glad to be onboard, shark-chan!

Well, either way, thank you for the warm welcome!

It's fairly new, though it's generally a lot more useful than IRC as it's got a detailed history, and built in file system. Can set up multiple chat rooms within a single "group" and that. It's web based for PC, and has a Mac, iOS, and Android app as well

Sounds impressive! Well, welcome aboard and feel free to message me if you have any questions. So you're going to college on the west coast, huh? You live in Cali? I'm in community college down south. Plus I'm also scube certified! Weird. So you're studying interactive literature for your senior project? If this project actually happens, does that mean that we'll be used as a source? Cause I think that'd be cool.

Yo~ I'm /u/YandereNoodle. I'm sixteen, so i guess I'm like one of the youngest people on the forum. I've been stalking /r/tsunderesharks for a solid three weeks. I read/watch a LOT of shoujo and harem comedy.
I'm currently reading Love so Life and ALL of the papakiki spinoffs. My first manga was Kodomo no Jikan, which was amazing. I also loved Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, Hana to Akuma, and Faster than a Kiss.
I've never actually read(?) A visual novel, but I'll try my best to help write for it!
Yoroshiku onegai shimasu!

I try to make a point of not responding to introductions, mostly because I lack anything of interest or relevance to say, but I feel the need to point out that in my present state of sleep-deprived insanity, I honest to God read your name as "yannerdoodle."
I bring great shame to this project.

Out of curiosity, is anyone familiar with Ren'py? It seems like the obvious choice to go for the actual mechanics of the game. It's free and is robust enough for anything we'd likely want to do. I haven't used it before personally, but I've heard good things and messing around in its guts has been on my to do list for a while now.

Yeah, the general consensus is that we're going to be using Ren'py.
